"The OGB internship program has been a great opportunity to gain professional experience relevant for a career in the biotech/pharma space and learn more about the industry. It is amazing to see how the skills I have gained during my PhD can be put to use, and rewarding to network and collaborate with other members of the OGB team, academics, and investors.
The OGB Senior Associate program has been beneficial and rewarding. When I joined the program, I was excited to learn how a biotechnology company took a product from development to launch. Throughout the program, I had hands-on experiences with many stages along the development pipeline. The program has not only provided skill training for a career in biotechnology, but it has also exposed me to the diverse career options in this industry. At the completion of this program, I will be ready to make the step from academia to biotech.
The program at OGB has given me exposure to a whole new side of research and biotech. Getting insights in what aspects are important at an early stage of a technology and a set of criteria to decide whether it's a good candidate for a venture or not has helped me reframe my own research. I came across questions I wouldn't have known to ask otherwise, which ended up serving as an inspiration for pushing my PhD work further.
Having partnered with many institutions outside of the typical hubs of San Francisco and Boston, we provide a platform for students to learn about the biotechnology venture capital industry.
OGB’s internship offered me the opportunity to apply my interests towards scientific due-diligence and company creation. Through the internship, I learned from entrepreneurs and industry experts, and I developed experience in business development, corporate strategy, due-diligence and investor relations.
The OGB program put me in the position to put to practice the finance and entrepreneurship courses I took in school while learning the intricacies of company building. The program cultivated my leadership skills while giving me the opportunity to learn about the biotech industry in a way that made me feel like I was actively contributing to the building of the company as a whole.
I am enjoying the various tasks I am involved in within the company, I get a glimpse of every aspect. Additionally, I really like that the work I am doing is directly beneficial to the company, I feel I am accomplishing something and I know I am really contributing to their success.
Associates work hand in hand with seasoned industry professionals and gain first-hand knowledge about what it's like to work on both sides of the early-stage biotechnology industry. Orange Grove Fellows are a tight-knit community that will provide you with a network that will last a lifetime.
I've been able to gain hands-on experience working side by side with like-minded peers on groundbreaking projects. I am provided with the opportunity to see firsthand the ambitions of OGB and gain experience working towards these future prospects.

Working with Orange Grove Bio during my last year of PhD research has been a fantastic opportunity to expand my skills beyond the bench and learn about the nuts and bolts of biotech and product development. The team is flexible to accommodate my full time PhD work and also puts effort into being supportive and available as mentors.
The experience with performing due diligence on academic innovations and analyzing their competitive landscape has been very valuable and further bolstered my interest in continuing to work in the venture capital space. Overall, an incredible hands-on experience on how startups originate and strategize for funding to eventually target unmet needs of patients.
