Katie is a Senior Associate at Orange Grove Bio. She is an Integrated Pharmaceutical Medicine PhD candidate at Northeast Ohio Medical University. Her dissertation research focuses on the mechanistic connections between Alzheimer’s disease and type II diabetes mellitus, primarily examining how midlife metabolic dysfunction contributes to the onset of tau pathogenesis peripherally and centrally. In addition, she is examining the therapeutic potential of a novel hormone called irisin within murine neurodegenerative disease models. Katie has a bachelor's degree in neuroscience, psychology, and biology from the University of Cincinnati.
