Orange Grove Bio Internship Hub

The Program

The Orange Grove Bio year-long Internship Program was developed to offer PhD Students and Post-Doctoral scholars an unfiltered educational opportunity to learn more about our company, the biotechnology industry, and venture capital through an immersive experience.

This opportunity allows interns to learn about the way we work with partner universities to strengthen the local life science ecosystem. You’ll have the chance to work on significant projects, attend educational sessions, interact with leadership, partake in social events, and network across various industries. Our primary goal is to prepare interns to gain meaningful work experience to launch your career.

“The internship program allows us to meaningfully connect with our university partners and provide hands-on venture experience to current PhDs to help shape them into future biotech entrepreneurs.”

– Marc Appel, JD, MBA, Chief Executive Officer

The Details

Our program is designed to apply your academic learnings and give real-world experience while working alongside seasoned professionals who mentor, challenge, support, and excite you. In your first week, you will attend an onboarding and orientation to learn about the business. This includes overviews of public and stealth programs, informational HR resources, and logistical essentials to navigate the program. Interns will have a designated manager for the duration of the program, along with focus mentors for short term projects.

Our interns gain exposure to a real-life business setting that integrates scientific diligence and several aspects of preclinical drug development. These internships are a vital pipeline, as Orange Grove Bio hires interns into full-time roles across the company after completing the program and graduate training.

“The internship program provided me with valuable experience in venture creation and drug development. As a Senior Associate, I had the unique opportunity to work closely with a team of experts, gain hands-on experience, and develop new skills. Ultimately, the program led to a job offer, and I am grateful for the experience and excited to begin my career in life science venture capital.”

“The program at OGB was a great opportunity to learn more about early-stage biotech diligence, university tech transfer as well as start-up operations. Switching often between the topics we performed scientific due diligence on was a welcome change of pace from my Ph.D., and the Lunch and Learn meetings with more senior team members were insightful and thought-provoking.”
